What makes Rapé Pariká distinct

How we understand it

At Ancestrina, we associate Pariká with deep meditation, silence and connection.

There are moments in meditation when the activity of the mind takes up nearly all our attention: thoughts, memories, plans, judgments and questions.

There are also moments when that conversation loses some of its force and a wider experience appears: a sense of wholeness, belonging, unity, of taking part in something that does not begin or end with us.

In our energetic reading, we associate Pariká with the seventh chakra, a territory we relate to spirituality, transcendence, wholeness and openness to what feels greater than our individual identity.

That is why we have historically related it to deep meditation and connection with the Whole. We do not need to define precisely what the Whole is. For some, it may have a spiritual language. For others, it may feel like nature, life, consciousness, the universe or simply a deep sense of belonging.

Origin and Production

Ancestrina’s rapés are made directly by elders of the Marubo, Munduruku, and Yanomami tribes in Brazil, with whom we maintain a direct relationship.

These preparations are made for Ancestrina based on each community’s traditional knowledge. When a variety contains tobacco, the tobacco used is rustic Amazonian tobacco grown by the communities themselves.

Each rapé retains its ingredients, but it does not follow an industrial formula with identical proportions. The quantities may vary from one batch to another depending on the knowledge and intuition of the Mayor who prepares it.
