Online couples therapy

A space to understand what is happening between you and work with greater clarity on the relationship you are building.

We do not begin by deciding who is right or by promising that the relationship should continue. We work with what each person is experiencing, how both of you participate, and the real decisions you need to make.

Marcela Gómez and Víctor Silva working together at Ancestrina.

The purpose

We are not here to decide for you

Couples therapy can help you look at the relationship without turning the process into a judgment of the other person.

We explore what keeps repeating, what has become difficult to say or hear, how each person responds, and which conditions are sustaining the problem.

The process may help you care for and transform the relationship, understand a crisis, or make a decision with greater clarity. The goal is not to preserve the relationship at any cost.

When it may make sense

When repeating the same conversation no longer resolves what you are going through

01

Recurring conflicts

You argue about the same things, the conflict escalates, or you end up pulling away without resolving what is really at stake.

02

Crisis, trust, or decisions

You are facing infidelity, a loss of trust, a major transition, or uncertainty about whether you want to continue.

03

Distance and intimacy

Closeness, desire, affection, or daily life has become a source of tension, silence, or disconnection.

Ongoing process

How the eight-session process works

1

First individual session

The therapist meets with one partner for 60 minutes.

2

Second individual session

The other partner has a separate 60-minute session with the same therapist.

3–8

Six joint sessions

The remaining six sessions include both partners and the same therapist.

+

Weekly continuity

The expected frequency is one session per week. The process is usually completed in eight weeks and should take no more than a suggested twelve weeks.

Each person completes a separate form before beginning. You may choose to work with Marcela or Víctor, subject to availability. The therapist you choose stays with you from beginning to end.

Format and fees

One-time consultation or complete process

One-time couples consultation

A 60-minute online session to address a specific situation, think through a decision, or understand whether a longer process makes sense.

FeeUSD 250

If we later agree to begin the eight-session process and space is available, this fee can be credited toward the process. The consultation does not automatically reserve a place.

Couples therapy process

Eight 60-minute online sessions: two initial individual meetings and six joint sessions, held weekly.

Complete process feeUSD 1,600

Payment in full is required before beginning. In Colombia, payment is made in Colombian pesos at the TRM exchange rate in effect on the payment date.

Who guides the process

You may choose to work with Marcela or Víctor

Marcela Gómez, therapist and co-founder of Ancestrina.

Marcela Gómez

She works with individuals and couples in Spanish and English.

Víctor Silva, therapist and co-founder of Ancestrina.

Víctor Silva

He works with individuals and couples in Spanish.

Your choice also depends on current availability. In online therapy, one of them guides the process; Marcela and Víctor work together only in the in-person immersive process.

Before you begin

Practical conditions

FormatOnline, for adults.
FrequencyOne session per week, scheduled weekly.
CancellationsAt least 24 hours in advance. We try to reschedule within the same week; if that is not possible, the session is considered used.
AvailabilitySpaces are limited. When none are available, we offer a waiting list.

If one partner does not want to participate, individual therapy can help the person seeking support work on their own part. It does not replace couples therapy or serve to persuade the other person to participate.

How to get started

The first step is understanding your situation

Each person completes a separate form. We review the information and, when needed, have a brief clarification call before confirming whether the process is appropriate and whether space is available.
