Rapé Murici

Price range: $90,000 through $130,000

Rapé Murici is prepared by hand with rustic Amazonian tobacco and Murici.

At Ancestrina, we associate it with sexuality, the body and vital energy: with the possibility of observing how we experience pleasure, what place desire has in our lives and how much room we give to a freer, more present relationship with our bodies.

Murici invites us to approach our sexuality with less judgment and a greater capacity to feel.

What makes Rapé Murici distinct

Sexuality is present in more than an encounter with another person. It is also part of our relationship with the body, pleasure, desire and our ability to feel alive.

Over the course of life, we may build shame, prohibitions, demands, fears or rigid ideas around how we ought to feel.

For us, Murici opens up that territory.

How am I experiencing my body? What place does pleasure have in my life? What have I learned to judge or hide about my own sexuality? Can I listen to my desire without immediately turning it into an obligation?

Composition

  • Base: Rustic Amazonian tobacco
  • Ingredient accompanying the tobacco: Murici
  • Origin: Brazil

How we understand it

At Ancestrina, we associate Murici with sexual energy as an expression of vitality: not only the sexual act, but also the impulse to create, enjoy, feel, move and take part in life through the body.

Some people experience their sexuality through guilt, others through disconnection or constant searching; for others, that relationship changes over time.

Murici invites us to observe our own relationship with this territory without imposing a single correct form.

In our energetic reading, we associate it with the second chakra, which for us relates to sexuality, pleasure, creativity, emotional movement and the capacity for enjoyment.

Murici reminds us that the body is also a place from which we can come to know ourselves.

Origin and Production

Ancestrina’s rapés are made directly by elders of the Marubo, Munduruku, and Yanomami tribes in Brazil, with whom we maintain a direct relationship.

These preparations are made for Ancestrina based on each community’s traditional knowledge. When a variety contains tobacco, the tobacco used is rustic Amazonian tobacco grown by the communities themselves.

Each rapé retains its ingredients, but it does not follow an industrial formula with identical proportions. The quantities may vary from one batch to another depending on the knowledge and intuition of the Mayor who prepares it.
