Rapé Tsunu

$110,000

Rapé Tsunu is prepared by hand with rustic Amazonian tobacco and Tsunu.

In Ancestrina’s energetic reading, we associate Tsunu with the flow of energetic channels and with Panema. Here, we use that term for moments when we feel stagnation, closure or difficulty allowing our energy to move again.

In our ceremonial experience, we have described Tsunu as gentle and loving. These words express a subjective experience and accompany our reading of circulation, balance and connection among energy centers.

What makes Rapé Tsunu distinct

There are moments when we do not feel one localized difficulty. It is not only the heart, the will, the voice, the mind or our ability to feel grounded. We feel that something, in general, has stopped circulating, as though different parts of us have lost connection with one another.

For us, Tsunu belongs to that territory: flow, the channels through which we understand our energy to move, and recognizing where we feel stuck so that movement can appear again.

What part of me feels still? Where does the flow seem interrupted? What changes when I stop pushing and allow something to circulate again?

How we understand it

At Ancestrina, we associate Tsunu with the flow of energetic channels. In different ways of understanding the energetic body, there are centers, channels and paths through which what we call energy circulates.

For us, Tsunu does not belong to only one center. Its reading is broader. That is why we associate it with all chakras. This association belongs to our energetic reading: it focuses on circulation among centers and the image of recovering movement when we feel stuck, not on a demonstrated action on each chakra.

At Ancestrina, we also associate Tsunu with Panema. For us, Panema means more than what we usually call “bad luck”. It speaks of a feeling of stagnation: times when things do not seem to flow, obstacles repeat, we lose momentum or something seems closed.

We do not understand Tsunu as a guarantee that what we wish for will happen. Its place is in observing our relationship with that stagnation and recovering movement where we feel we have lost it.

In our ceremonial experience with Tsunu, we have described some experiences as gentle and loving. That description is subjective and does not establish the preparation’s intensity or safety. It may invite us to perceive, listen, recognize where we are closed and allow flow to find a way again.

This distinguishes Tsunu from nearby varieties. Velandinho focuses on protection and cleansing in relation to burdens we feel come from outside. Pixuri concerns frequency and what nourishes or drains our energy. Pariká turns toward deep meditation and connection with the Whole.

Tsunu focuses on circulation itself: what connects, what moves and the possibility of recovering flow when we feel our energy has become still.

Origin and Production

Ancestrina’s rapés are made directly by elders of the Marubo, Munduruku, and Yanomami tribes in Brazil, with whom we maintain a direct relationship.

These preparations are made for Ancestrina based on each community’s traditional knowledge. When a variety contains tobacco, the tobacco used is rustic Amazonian tobacco grown by the communities themselves.

Each rapé retains its ingredients, but it does not follow an industrial formula with identical proportions. The quantities may vary from one batch to another depending on the knowledge and intuition of the Mayor who prepares it.
