What makes Rapé Envira Ferro distinct

Some things ended long ago yet continue to happen within us: a conversation we replay, a betrayal, an absence, an injustice or something we did and have not yet forgiven ourselves for.

For us, Envira Ferro speaks of that burden and asks what we are still doing today with a story that has already ended.

How we understand it

At Ancestrina, we associate Envira Ferro with forgiveness and emotional release.

For us, forgiveness can exist without reconciliation. It can be an intimate process of no longer allowing a past experience to occupy the same place within us.

Some resentments serve a purpose for a time. They help us remember, protect ourselves and avoid repeating something. Yet a moment may come when what once protected us begins to become a burden.

Envira Ferro invites us to recognize that moment. What do I need to keep from this experience? What do I no longer need to carry? What would be different if I could remember without reliving it each time?

Forgiveness can also be directed toward ourselves. We can all look back and find decisions we would make differently today. We can learn from them without condemning ourselves forever to remain the person who made them.

Origin and Production

Ancestrina’s rapés are made directly by elders of the Marubo, Munduruku, and Yanomami tribes in Brazil, with whom we maintain a direct relationship.

These preparations are made for Ancestrina based on each community’s traditional knowledge. When a variety contains tobacco, the tobacco used is rustic Amazonian tobacco grown by the communities themselves.

Each rapé retains its ingredients, but it does not follow an industrial formula with identical proportions. The quantities may vary from one batch to another depending on the knowledge and intuition of the Mayor who prepares it.
