Cielo invites us to look at our experience from another perspective and recognize that what we live through can take on new meaning when we no longer see it only through our immediate story.

What makes Rapé Cielo distinct

Some experiences do not end when they happen: a relationship, a loss, a journey, a ceremony, a crisis or an intense stage of our lives.

We may have gone through something and still be trying to understand what place it has within us.

For us, Cielo speaks of integration: looking again at what we have lived through and allowing associations, images, understandings or perspectives that were not available before to appear.

What am I trying to understand about what I lived through? What part of that experience still feels fragmented? What appears when I can see it from a wider place?

How we understand it

At Ancestrina, we call Cielo a visionary rapé.

For us, a visionary experience may include images as well as a different way of relating to what we are living through: an unexpected association, a new perspective, an understanding that appears from another place or a sense of spaciousness around something that once felt closed.

Historically, we have related Cielo to integrating experiences. Sometimes we have lived through too much to organize it immediately. Experiences remain within us, but we do not yet know how to bring them into our story.

For us, Cielo represents that territory of integration: looking, recognizing, relating and giving something its place.

In our energetic reading, we associate it with the seventh chakra, a territory we relate to transcendence, wholeness and connection with what feels greater than our individual identity.

That is where the idea of connection with the Whole also appears. The Whole may take different names and be understood in different ways: life, nature, the universe, consciousness, God, Great Spirit, or simply the experience of no longer feeling entirely separate from what we are part of.

Cielo invites us to widen our gaze and allow our experiences a place within a larger whole.

Origin and Production

Ancestrina’s rapés are made directly by elders of the Marubo, Munduruku, and Yanomami tribes in Brazil, with whom we maintain a direct relationship.

These preparations are made for Ancestrina based on each community’s traditional knowledge. When a variety contains tobacco, the tobacco used is rustic Amazonian tobacco grown by the communities themselves.

Each rapé retains its ingredients, but it does not follow an industrial formula with identical proportions. The quantities may vary from one batch to another depending on the knowledge and intuition of the Mayor who prepares it.
