What sets Rapé Cacao apart

For us, Cacao speaks of flow.

There are moments when life changes direction and we keep trying to steer it toward where we had decided it should go. We cling, resist and spend energy fighting what is already happening.

Cacao invites us to observe that resistance and regain movement.

To flow is to recognize where we are and take part in our lives again from there.

That is why we call it the Rapé of joy: when we stop constantly swimming against the current, there is more room to live.

How we understand it

In our ceremonial experience, Cacao has a quality we associate with openness, lightness and the heart.

Within our energetic reading, the heart represents the capacity to receive, feel gratitude, open up and participate fully in life.

Cacao reminds us that not every movement needs to be controlled. Sometimes direction emerges when we stop resisting and allow ourselves to walk with what life is placing before us.

Origin and Production

Ancestrina’s rapés are made directly by elders of the Marubo, Munduruku, and Yanomami tribes in Brazil, with whom we maintain a direct relationship.

These preparations are made for Ancestrina based on each community’s traditional knowledge. When a variety contains tobacco, the tobacco used is rustic Amazonian tobacco grown by the communities themselves.

Each rapé retains its ingredients, but it does not follow an industrial formula with identical proportions. The quantities may vary from one batch to another depending on the knowledge and intuition of the Mayor who prepares it.
