What makes Rapé Alfavaca distinct

There are places, conversations and encounters after which we feel that something has stayed with us.

Sometimes we experience it as tiredness, heaviness or difficulty returning to our own space.

Within our way of understanding energy, Alfavaca speaks of cleansing and closure: recognizing what we want to release after an experience and what we want to keep as our own.

What am I still carrying that I do not need to bring with me? What do I need to close? How do I return to my own space after being deeply exposed to something or someone?

How we understand it

At Ancestrina, we use Alfavaca within practices of energetic cleansing.

For us, cleansing means recognizing when we need to let go of what has remained attached to an experience, mark a moment of closure and regain a clear sense of our own place.

Its territory appears especially after experiences we feel to be intense: when something has ended, when we leave a charged space or when we need to stop carrying what has already passed.

We do not associate Alfavaca with any one chakra. For us, its territory is broader: cleansing, closure and a return to our own center.

Origin and Production

Ancestrina’s rapés are made directly by elders of the Marubo, Munduruku, and Yanomami tribes in Brazil, with whom we maintain a direct relationship.

These preparations are made for Ancestrina based on each community’s traditional knowledge. When a variety contains tobacco, the tobacco used is rustic Amazonian tobacco grown by the communities themselves.

Each rapé retains its ingredients, but it does not follow an industrial formula with identical proportions. The quantities may vary from one batch to another depending on the knowledge and intuition of the Mayor who prepares it.
