For us, Imburana speaks of rejection, resistance and integration.

There are experiences, people, situations or changes that cause something within us to close off. Sometimes that rejection is obvious; at other times we keep taking part in a situation while struggling against it inside.

Imburana invites us to look at that movement.

What am I rejecting? What do I find difficult to integrate? What am I fighting against within myself?

The invitation is not necessarily to accept everything that happens, but to see our relationship with what is before us more clearly.

How we understand it

At Ancestrina, we keep the historical name “the Rapé of allergies” as part of our energetic reading of Imburana.

In that reading, allergy serves as a symbolic image of rejection: something to which we respond with resistance. We do not use it as a medical explanation of allergies.

Our question concerns our own experience: What am I trying to push out of my life? What situation brings up constant resistance in me? What reality have I not yet found a way to integrate?

Imburana invites us to observe that movement and to recognize our relationship with what is before us more clearly.

In our energetic reading, we associate it with the third chakra, a territory we relate to the will, the way we position ourselves in what we live through, and the ability to recognize our own limits.

Origin and Production

Ancestrina’s rapés are made directly by elders of the Marubo, Munduruku, and Yanomami tribes in Brazil, with whom we maintain a direct relationship.

These preparations are made for Ancestrina based on each community’s traditional knowledge. When a variety contains tobacco, the tobacco used is rustic Amazonian tobacco grown by the communities themselves.

Each rapé retains its ingredients, but it does not follow an industrial formula with identical proportions. The quantities may vary from one batch to another depending on the knowledge and intuition of the Mayor who prepares it.
