Rapé Tahuarí is prepared by hand with rustic Amazonian tobacco and Tahuarí.
At Ancestrina, we associate it with returning to our center: those moments when we feel rushed, burdened or scattered and need to recover stillness, slow down and return to the body.
Tahuarí invites us to quiet the noise for a moment and find again a more serene place from which to be present.

What makes Rapé Tahuarí distinct
There are moments when everything seems to move too fast.
The mind carries on one conversation while the body is somewhere else. We jump from one thing to the next, accumulate stimuli and end up living in a state of acceleration.
For us, Tahuarí speaks of stillness: slowing down, returning to the body and recovering a center from which we can engage again with what is happening.
What happens if I stop rushing for a moment? Where is my body while my mind tries to be everywhere? What can I hear when the noise subsides?
Composition
- Base: Rustic Amazonian tobacco
- Ingredient accompanying the tobacco: Tahuarí
- Origin: Brazil
How we understand it
In our ceremonial experience, Tahuarí has a quality we associate with calm and turning inward.
We work with it when we feel the need to slow down, stop responding immediately to every stimulus and recover presence.
Returning to our center does not mean stopping life. It means finding again an inner place from which to take part in it.
In our energetic reading, we associate Tahuarí with the second and third chakras, territories we relate to emotional movement, the will and our way of inhabiting the body.
Tahuarí reminds us that we do not always need to move faster. Sometimes we need to be present enough to know where we are going.
Origin and Production
Ancestrina’s rapés are made directly by elders of the Marubo, Munduruku, and Yanomami tribes in Brazil, with whom we maintain a direct relationship.
These preparations are made for Ancestrina based on each community’s traditional knowledge. When a variety contains tobacco, the tobacco used is rustic Amazonian tobacco grown by the communities themselves.
Each rapé retains its ingredients, but it does not follow an industrial formula with identical proportions. The quantities may vary from one batch to another depending on the knowledge and intuition of the Mayor who prepares it.
