Rapé Cajueiro

Price range: $90,000 through $130,000

Rapé Cajueiro is prepared by hand with rustic Amazonian tobacco and Cajueiro.

At Ancestrina, we associate it with moments when we have made a decision, want to sustain a change and feel the urge to return to what is familiar.

Cajueiro invites us to create space between that urge and our automatic response so that we can remain a little closer to what we chose.

What makes Rapé Cajueiro distinct

Changing something is rarely difficult only at the moment we decide to do it. Often the hard part comes afterward.

We decide to leave a habit, change the way we eat, close a chapter, begin something new or uphold an important choice.

Then restlessness appears. The wish to go back. The urge to do what we have always done.

For us, Cajueiro speaks precisely of that moment.

What happens between what I chose and the impulse to abandon it? Can I feel that restlessness without responding immediately? Do I want to go back because I have changed direction or because the familiar is calling me?

How we understand it

At Ancestrina, we associate Cajueiro with the restlessness that may arise when we try to sustain a change.

Not all restlessness means we chose badly. Sometimes change involves moving through a time when the new still feels unfamiliar and the old still has a strong pull.

Cajueiro invites us to stay there a little longer, make space between what we feel and what we do, and observe the impulse before obeying it.

In our energetic reading, we associate it with the third chakra, a territory we relate to the will, direction and our ability to sustain what we have decided.

For us, Cajueiro does not speak of forcing ourselves to continue at any cost. It speaks of distinguishing between consciously changing direction and automatically abandoning a choice because discomfort has appeared.

Origin and Production

Ancestrina’s rapés are made directly by elders of the Marubo, Munduruku, and Yanomami tribes in Brazil, with whom we maintain a direct relationship.

These preparations are made for Ancestrina based on each community’s traditional knowledge. When a variety contains tobacco, the tobacco used is rustic Amazonian tobacco grown by the communities themselves.

Each rapé retains its ingredients, but it does not follow an industrial formula with identical proportions. The quantities may vary from one batch to another depending on the knowledge and intuition of the Mayor who prepares it.
